Film dari John and the Hole (2021) bersinopsis Saat menjelajahi hutan di dekatnya, John yang berusia 13 tahun menemukan bunker yang belum selesai – sebuah lubang yang dalam di tanah. Tampaknya tanpa provokasi, dia membius orang tua dan kakak perempuannya yang kaya dan menyeret tubuh mereka yang tidak sadarkan diri ke dalam bunker, di mana dia menahan mereka. Saat mereka dengan cemas menunggu John membebaskan mereka dari lubang, anak laki-laki itu kembali ke rumah, di mana dia akhirnya bisa melakukan apa yang dia inginkan.
